1. Can I start with one geographic area and later change it?

Absolutely. We can make the area served by the site bigger or smaller. Not a problem. We'll just make the appropriate changes to the web crawler and work with your site administrator to add or remove counties, regions, etc... We realize that you may acquire or lose funding partners after the site is launched and we will gladly work with you to make any necessary changes. Keep in mind though that if we shrink your geographic area the web crawler will return fewer jobs.

2. Where can I get funding for WorkforceBuilder?
Most States have Workforce Investment Boards that provide information, guidance and assistance in the development of Regional Workforce Development. Most regions have Economic Development organization and Procurement Centers through which they can apply for state funding under various programs and initiatives. Most states also have Economic Investment organization that can match other funding. Some Economic Development organizations already have budgets to operate a regional Job Site under existing programs. Last but not least, there is typically plenty of Businesses that are looking to contribute to community development and a Job Site is an ideal and visible initiative for them. Given WorkforceBuilder’s delivery and pricing model, it foreseeable that contributions from one or two businesses alone can cover the yearly hosting fee.

3. Can I get assistance Marketing the Job Site?
With each installation our Engagement Managers will assist in providing guidance to ensure that your Job Site is a success. However, it is recommended that an advertising/marketing agency local to your region be used for best results, they will typically have existing relationships with the media companies that will ultimately be required to promote the site. Many regions also have existing Marketing alliances that can extend promotional resources. WorkforceBuilder does have partnerships with local agencies which we can partner with to provide a comprehensive marketing program.

4. Can I generate revenue with the site?
Although most initiatives hosting a job site for regional Economic Development make it available for free as part of an Economic Stimulus strategy, site advertising and usage fees can be charged. Although traditionally Job Seekers are not charged to use the site, Employers can be charged to post jobs; additional fees can be charged for Featuring a Job on the site, as well as for Banner advertising on the site. Last but not least, you can charge for sites wanting to incorporate the WorkforceBuilderPowerBy© feature which gives them the ability to have Job Site search features power by your site on their site.

5. How quickly can I get my Job Site up and running?
WorkforceBuilder has template sites that can be activated within 48 hours. However, site customization and proper planning will typically dictate a 2 week delivery time frame.

6. What do I need to get started?
The most important element of your site decision is what geographic REGION is to be served. Region is defined as Counties and MSA (Metropolitan Service Area) typically a grouping of largest cities near you. Standard SITE DESIGN preferences, font, color and home page text. SITE LOGO depending on your regions marketing efforts there may be an existing Logo or icon that can be used on the Job Site. The site has various pull downs that can be customized, if desired. Last but not least, you should select regional Job Sites that you would like our JobCrawler© to search, National job sites will already be included.

7. Can the site be extensively customized?
Yes, as the developers of the site and a mature Development Center the sky is the limit. However, the standard support included with the yearly fee would not cover support for a customized system.

8. Can the site be integrated with other systems?
Yes, WorkforceBuilder’s forte is that of a System Integrator so we can typically integrate the site into any existing system provided we have access to the appropriate integration tools and source systems, and if required, personnel.

9. Can WorkforceBuilder assist with community training?
Yes. Although the Job Site is intuitive by design, some customers have requested training, primarily for key Employers and Universities. The training is typically Seminar style, although Class Room style is also an option. WorkforceBuilder trainers can provide the training remotely online or onsite. Community training is not included in the yearly fee and would carry additional fees.

10. Can I get a copy of my data on request?
Yes. Depending on the size of your database WorkforceBuilder will download data to various industry standard formats at your request. Data will be provided as is in a Normalized manner with a corresponding data map to show relationships. If specific views are required it should be noted up front. Data Downloads are not included in the yearly fee and would carry additional fees.

11. Can I create my own reports?
Yes. For an additional monthly fee WorkforceBuilder can provide administrators with their own Read-Only ADO account to access data directly from our SQL servers. Although we’ll provide access to the data the customer will require a reporting tool to be able to author their own reports, typically Crystal Reports or MS Access are used. However, it should be noted that WorkforceBuilder includes a variety of standard reports with robust filters and sorting selection that yield hundreds of reporting options.

12. Does the all inclusive fee include hosting?
Yes. Although it is unfortunate that many hosted solutions’ “all-inclusive” offerings typically require this question be asked with the overwhelming response being another fee for Internet Hosting, at WorkforceBuilder we are straightforward. Our yearly fee includes hosting of the application, database and internet access, although there are tier levels based on use which typically only apply for larger installations. Our Yearly Fee also includes Technical Support, Administrator training, initial standard design customization, setup of coverage geography and content layout.

13. In addition to the yearly fee are there any other expenses I should budget?
Not from WorkforceBuilder. However, other expenses for your overall budget should account for Administration personnel to administer the site in terms of reviewing Jobs posted, Featured Job request, Employers, and Job Seekers. Unlike many Job Sites, WorkforceBuilder automates the sign-up process for Job Seekers and Employers, so no user setup is required. WorkforceBuilder also provides default and optional expiration dates to Job Postings and Resumes so no clean-up of outdated data is required. WorkforceBuilder automatically emails Job Seekers and Employers of Resumes and Jobs, respectively, due to expire so no administration is required there either.

Although Word-of-Mouth has proven to be very much a part of the success of existing WorkforceBuilder implementations a formal print, radio and/or TV advertising campaign is recommended to expedite the Job Site launch. Also given the inherent community focus of this Job Site PR is a powerful tool that should be a managed process.

14. Do I need to wait for Employers to post their jobs before announcing the site to the public and Job Seekers?
No, one of the unique features of WorkforceBuilder is that it will simultaneously search other National and Regional job sites literally guaranteeing that your site will return jobs to Job Seekers from day one.

15. Can the JobCrawler© search any site?
No. Each site to be searched must be specifically tested and programmed by our development team. Not all sites provide a friendly architecture and display methods which our technology uses to identify external jobs matching the Job Seekers search criteria. Our yearly fee includes a pre-specified number of sites that we will test, with additional site test requests performed at a nominal fee. Our yearly fee includes a pre-specified number of sites that we will be configured to be searched by the JobCrawler, with additional site configuration requests performed at a nominal fee.

16. Can WorkforceBuilder provide support to the End User (Employer/Job Seekers)?

Yes. Although the administrator (Customer) is trained to handle standard questions with the ability to relay more technical question to WorkforceBuilder at no-charge, we can provide Help Desk support for end-users. End-User support is not included in the yearly fee and would carry additional fees.
